It is not a secret for anyone, the very restrictive policy in the office in the use of
Internet; but considering the scope and the influence that has been earned by
social media in the last years, it is essential for the Company to get involved
in this whole new ambit, not only to engage and
align employees to the company’s vision and mission, but also to increase the
presence of the brand and its products in the social media users’ every day,
and to enhance the service given to the clients by using the “7 Tips to Improve Customer Service Using Social Media Sites”
(Phillips, T. February 25, 2013). It would be beneficial to the Company to adopt “The
Five Step Roadmap” proposed by Elizabeth Lupfer (January 26, 2012) to make the
transition a little easier and expedite the employees’ adaptation. Going social
may bring positive and negative things to the Company, but at the end, it will
be seen by others even better than it is seen at the present time.
