    Having an active presence online is essential but especially in social networks today for any business. Social networks have become a great tool to have a better relationship with your customers or users and provide better service quality to offer your product or business opportunity over the Internet, without being intrusive with people. Just for the mere fact that Social Media, as the name suggests are for socializing with people, make friends, engage in conversations and provide responsive service and customer care much better than traditional methods and not to make a massive use of offers or advertisements from which your only goal is sales. One of the biggest mistakes made by most companies is the lack of planning. Businesses have to take into account that when you open a profile in social networks it does not mean just talking about your company, your products or services. It is vital to the development of a strategy appropriate to their needs in which the audience is determined to be achieved by these means, and the way how they would approach this. It is not about opening a profile to get fans and forget about them. The importance of social networks is the feedback we receive from the community. Interactivity is the backbone of social media. Doing a good job with the community depends largely on the chosen strategy and the work of the Community Manager, who is responsible for creating, executing and energize the community to achieve the goals set. It is also important to mention that many times, enterprises only use them to advertise their offers or campaigns. In fact, they should look and useful information related to his followers, and they will be those who seek to know more about the brand. Managing these tools is quite simple and can even be a very enjoyable job. You just need to avoid the above problems and so the company will enjoy higher profits and have a better relationship with their customers. This is why it is very important that a company have a presence on social networks.

The truth is that social media marketing has been quite the rage for a while. We have seen how Facebook, twitter and other social media outlets have helped companies reach to people all around the globe. However while big corporations took to social media marketing very seriously, other companies have been quite slower in following. In despite of this I believe that adding social media strategy, with your traditional marketing activities can open up newer lines of communication with your audiences. Engaging customers and potential customers is effortless and quick with social media. Apart from improving conversations with audiences, social media marketing facilitates relationship building across the globe with peers from your industry or potential partners. One of the most essential reasons to adopt a social media marketing plan is to be considered a thought leader. In social media, thought leaders are like the messiahs, so to speak, and very clearly have an edge over everyone else. Have been said this I strongly support the idea of social media as a tool, a tool to reach out to new clients and consumers. A port where people can feel that they are part of the company. However, I must agree with my classmate Rangel, Valeria perspective. She has made an important note on how the use of social media should be use, specifically, the restrictions it should had within the workplace and its usage. For example she states that, even though Social media is a pervasive and profitable tool it should be supervised or/and managed by a professional group of people. This tool cannot be in disposition of every employee. The use must be only to promote the company’s image, extend information about the enterprise to the people or company, social media is related to the Public relations department so it should work under it.

Nowadays Companies that don’t use social media are behind the competition, and our company isn’t the exception. Technology is developing and giving us new tools every day, to make the difference it's necessary to take advantage of it. I agree with the most of my peers in that our company should get in to social media. This could approach us to our customers, give us cheaper or free advertisements on the web or even bring us new customers. However if the company wants to take this step it’s necessary to set some rules to control the time of internet usage, to avoid the waste of time during working hours. It’s also important to state the way of how employees are going to be able to talk with customers, it's essential to be politically correct with them in order to avoid any misunderstanding or offence. Finally other thing that can be done is to hire a social media administrator (what some companies nowadays do) and leave this subject to a professional. Our company may need some changes, but I think we should get in to social media mainly because we are not using the tools that modern times are giving us.

      Nowadays, social networks are an essential media for communication. It starts as a way of socialize and reconnect with old friends and family, but now it also has a new propose which is publicity and communication between companies, employees and customers. Another important think to mention is trend and “what’s in?”. The world as we know it revolves around what people want at the moment, and today we can agree that is social media as Emily Barraez well said.
      I personally think that the best way to grow as a company is to follow wants trend so, we should enter into social media world. This will make us know what our customers want by facilitating communication for example Twitter or comments on Facebook and it is the easiest way to do it. Also customers will see that as a company we live in the present and expect more about the future. So, in that way, the world will see that the company grows with time and updates with population.

      However, as a lot of my coworkers said, this is a process that should be discussed and well planned to get the success that this company needs. First of all every personal of our team should know this new idea.  Emily also said “Consider that even if the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution speaks of freedom of expression, we need to be aware about the political correctness.” This in my opinion is one of the most important steps we need to take into account. Because, if we want to update with trend and communication, we should start with updating on what’s politically correct or not.

It’s no secret that the Internet and social media can fundamentally transform the way businesses market and interact with today’s connected consumers. In the space of a decade, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and others have all exploded into the national consciousness. First people learned how to use social media for personal reasons. Now businesses are learning how they can use social media to increase earnings in their services and products. This transition will not be easy, but it can be posible and effective as long as has the commitment of the employees. Second of all, it's important to highlight  what my peers say before about the propose of Elizabeth Lupfer in the article "The Five Step Roadmap to internal Social Media” to make the transition a little easier and the idea to create a toolkit to train our personnel and all the departments involve of  this new approach. Finally  specially agree with my peer Cecilia Juarez because I think that  "we are capable to make a successful transition because our company is full of proactive people who are looking forward to promote our ideals and use every single possibility to grow."

Nowadays the social networks have become a relevant issue that involves all the people a round the globe by conneting those to what its constantly happening in the whole world. When a company decided to join social networks its an important step because is an unique opportunity to release to the world what they are offering in a easier and chipper way, and at the same time its a most useful way to know as a company what the general public thinks about their products or services without spending much money in polls or other types of advertisements. Also by implementing this method the workers will feel more related to the company, creating a different environment in the workplace, having as a result an  increase in the productivity of the workers at the workplace. 

In the other hand, as some of my classmates said, not every company is able to achieve good results by using social networks, so thats why its important to invest time and dedication with capable people in order to build an stable an effective relation with customers, and in this way level up the standards of the company.

The modern world ask for constant interaction that can only be provided trough the Web 2.0 such is the case of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Skype, Google+ networks that provides costumers feedback, branding and creating a good name getting involve in campaigns, contest an more allowing everyone to give an opinion even the completion, ultimately they can tell everyone who they are and how they want to be seen. The continus debate on using social media as a new market strategy or not, its a cultural thing. If companies apply an ethic and educational model with values like respect, responsability, honesty, decorum for its use, a matter that my companions have already mention and I happen to agree, its possible to implement it in a workplace. With a environment that changes every day, all time, where anything that its not online "doesn't exist" as soon companies enter to the social network the better.

Social media has become one of the most powerful tools in the world, even though it is known that many people use these tools just for entertainment, it is also known that people has began to use it as a tool for finding important and refreshed information on the web. With these facts could be indicated that starting to use social media could be one of the most important steps that the company would give.

Many people have thought that changing to social media won't be necessary, but the truth is that we live in a world where the image moves it all; many companies have won a big place in the world just by joining to social media and promoting their image into it; so it is necessary that, beyond of wanting to be part of a competence, this company shows to the world that we are also updated with technology and we still want to be part of the business.

This company have a very strict policy about the use of the internet in the office or the workplace, so it will be necessary to remind these rules to all the workers, and if it is needed also will be created some new rules; from the very begining will be shown that the way of using social media must be totaly professional. 

By using social media, many aspects of the company will be improved, such as the importance of having a good look from the outside, the importance of being updated with technology, also will be shown to the people that this is a company that goes hand by hand with the new time, and will be bigger the chance of getting new professional entries and professional opportunities.

Internet is a space which everyone has access to; its use nowadays is totally necessary for organizations.

Social media is a very powerful tool for organizations; it brings some advantages, such as:
-         They allow costumers to know about organization’s products and services.
-         They let the organization know what does costumers wish about the product or service.

It is necessary that organizations evaluate how to use social networks, because it should be used carefully, Mr. Albert Di Lisio and Ms. Guiliana Taramasco have already said the most important rules to follow by organizations; they are:
-         Not every employee should have access to organization’s social networks, a department or group of employees should be selected for this job.
-         The language used in the online spaces of the organization should be formal and smart.
-         Organization’s social networks should be used to advertise costumers about products or services.
-         The questions or comments of costumers should be answered personally.

Every organization can go social, but first, they should follow some rules to make the use of the social networks work.

I Consider it essential to the integration of social networks in the workplace. First, is the new integration with respect to advertising and marketing to raise awareness of both the company and the main objectives of the same. Not all social networks are suitable for a company, should be evaluated principles by which both the president and the rest of the employees will give you an advantage to the network.

You must respect the views, impartially handle criteria and decouple personal tastes to focus fully in the affairs of the company. If carried verbatim to each of these criteria, social networks will be a valuable tool and an added bonus in the current integration of technology with work.

To make the decision of whether a company should make way for the use of social media or not, the first thing you should do to answer these three questions.
  • Who is our customer? 
  • What things do they like besides what we offer?
  • Witch of these tools can we use to help the company grow?
It's easy to know why the first two questions, but the third is probably the most important related to what we are talking about, We must take into account that not all social networks serve the same purpose, in the same way that not all companies do the same things. Because of this, it has come to the conclusion that depending on the type of company should use a kind of social tool. For example, a company dedicated to selling clothes and want to advertise on social networks, they should use social networks like Instagram or Facebook where they could showcase their products, but if the company is offering some kind of service, probably the social tool best suited would be Twitter where his ties with customers would strengthen.

After having answered these questions we concluded that our company should make way for the use of these tools because the benefits would be of great importance for the growth of the company. The first major advantage would be that would establish new ties with potential clients and existing client relationships, as it would establish a new channel of communication with them. Through social media we can answer questions and concerns and see what things can be interesting to our customers. After that you have to take into account that today, the vast majority of individuals and businesses use these tools which would encourage a new way to advertise our business with great possibility that it remains the best method of advertising.

The use of social media for business is imperative nowadays.
It's represents an useful and powerful tool for the specific consumer search, market expansion, brand control, promotion, negatives comment supervision to take action and improvements, observe competitor performance, among other things.
It is a strategic measure to use Facebook, Twitter and even Instagram to get feedback from consumers.
To have a work staff specifically for social media management and feedback reports from consumers is really necessary. This or these employees must handle a formal and respectful language on social networks at all times.
It would help to use celebrities consistent with the brand through exchange, helps marketing promotion. For example, if it is a watch company, use a model, movie star or TV image to display on Twitter or Instagram through photos, could increase sales. It is very fashionable and it works great.
I’m agree with my classmate vision Maria Eugenia Molina, about that the companies must know the laws to make proper use of social media, an its unnecessary to train all employees on its use. Gregory Raspatella also have a great opinion about this subject.

Nowadays, the implementation of social media at companies, it becomes necessary, this due to the technology boom has these days. In agree with the view of some participants in this blog, is necessary that the decision of these new technological alternatives, have been taken under the study and monitoring of the success that social media can have on the company and how they can be sustained over time. It is necessary to carry out the implementation of a more organized way possible, for example by following some steps designed by experts, such as: assessment, design, implementation, and sustainability assurance adjustments, so you can make the right decisions to ensure decided it was best for the company. The transition can be effective, as long as, it has the willingness and commitment of employees.

            Going Social is not an easy task for a company to accomplish; social medias began as a channel for personal interactions, connecting families and friends.  Due to social medias’ increasingly popularity, companies had to implement them to improve their productivity as they reach out customers directly. Social medias not only improve a company’s productivity it also makes employees perform a better job, stay connected, and reach more audience. That’s why I agree with Elizabeth Lupfer writer of the article “Five Step Roadmap to Internal Social Media”, as she states that it is very impressive how social technologies have a great impact on companies’ productivity and that, as a result, companies should implement a way to maintain sustainable their social medias by adhering this steps which are an innovative way to make employees adapt to this circumstances as now a days the technology and specially social medias have a great impact on society. Social medias are a revolution that changed the world and because of that, corporations quickly realized that this tool would be the future, that’s why going social is important and essential for a company, eventhough it has negative aspects, it should turn into social as technology is the world’s future.

I agree with the opinion of Mr. Albert because the social networks actually are a great opportunity to stay in touch with customers. In this sense, it is necessary that the company hires an expert to be responsible of social networks especially in case there is some negative feedback from some customers. The company needs to take this step because competition every day becomes larger and social networking is a tool that allows the company to capture a wider number of customers. Furthermore, it is important to follow certain rules when using social networks, some rules have already been added by Mr. Albert and some others such as the following could also be added:
1) In case of negative or positive comments from customers, the answer must be made personally.
2) Social networks of competition need to be monitored constantly, this will allow the company to know their projects and determine the course of action to be taken.

In order to agree with my coworkers I have to stand out the relevance that social networks have accomplished this days, even though they are used, in several cases, with personal purposes they can become an effective tool to promote and benefit our relationship with costumers and other companies.

It is well known that companies should have political standards that regulate the use of social networks in the workplace, because it could affect concentration and productivity, however the correct use of this communication tools can mean an strategic advance that involves technology and novelty.

As a company we need to evolve and adapt to the context, the high demand of social networking can represent a huge opportunity to hear our costumers' opinions and ideas, to promote our products and to expand our market. We are capable to make a successful transition because our company is full of proactive people who are looking forward to promote our ideals and use every single possibility to grow.

Here I pose some possible steps to achieve our objective:


  • At first we have to communicate the idea to every department in the company , in order to look for their opinions and suggestions.
  • Then we have to determine our target.
  • Create a plan of publicity and select the information that we want to share through the analysis of our needs and goals, involving work ethics and proper use of that kind of tools.
  • Implement the plan.
  • Observe and analysis the results.

Firstly, the use of Internet is important nowadays, especially in the case of companies that want to go social, meaning an organization that wants to spread around its benefits. Every company needs changes, so this transition is crucial for its development for the future. The transition cannot be made if employees are not aware of all the tools and resources they have access to, like the case of social networks, especially in a business setting where everyone needs to get involve not only with their co-workers, but also their clients. Furthermore, the board of directors should be in charge of taking a decision along with the network specialist, hired by the company we are refering to. The board of directors should ask all the employees for their opinion on the topic through questionnaires, so that everyone has part in the company's decision. Also, specific guidelines should be set and followed for a beneficial use of the company’s social networks.

The uses of social media are really important for all, not only in a company also in our life. In these days the internet is the most usefull tool, everybody has access to the web.

Even though the company is not prepared to go social it's necesary evaluate why is so important implement these alternative for our increased. People needs to understand that is a company, not every social media is good for us some of them are not qualified for what we want and we have to think about it, in what kind of pages we want to stay. The company has to be commited for a good development on internet. The message that we want to send in the media has to be efficient, inteligent and also objective. 

We have to analyze the reasons for appear in the network, what could be the consequences and results that we will have in future. We can't understimate the users because they are the principal point of interest. 

Finally, it's necessary to take a minute and think about everything we want to do, how the social media is going to see us in that moment and what we want to transmit.

     It is not a secret for anyone, the very restrictive policy in the office in the use of Internet; but considering the scope and the influence that has been earned by social media in the last years, it is essential for the Company to get involved in this whole new ambit, not only to engage and align employees to the company’s vision and mission, but also to increase the presence of the brand and its products in the social media users’ every day, and to enhance the service given to the clients by using the “7 Tips to Improve Customer Service Using Social Media Sites” (Phillips, T. February 25, 2013). It would be beneficial to the Company to adopt “The Five Step Roadmap” proposed by Elizabeth Lupfer (January 26, 2012) to make the transition a little easier and expedite the employees’ adaptation. Going social may bring positive and negative things to the Company, but at the end, it will be seen by others even better than it is seen at the present time.

It is essential to mention the importance that social media has now a days, and the impact it has generated in all kind of public, no matter age, sex, culture, bewteen others; that´s why I think it is crucial for the company to go social and enter in that world.
The way the decision should be taken, could be by making a questionnaire to all employees, asking them what they think about going social and also their opinion about social media and the benefits it could bring to the company.
It should be done by certain steps for the employees to get adapted to it, like it and also be comfortable in the new system that would be implement, starting by only one media and then incorporate all of them, one by one, using only the ones that match with the interests of the company.  
The transition is completely possible, the company needs be at the forefront, especially when we are talking about social media; all we need is a mutual agreement, a good disposal and also an excellent plan to make it work.
To close, it´s important to highlight that every day it is getting more necessary to the company to get social and to include this as an active part of the members, in order to improve, advance and get new and better profits.

In my opinion, it’s important that companies start implementing social media tools as a part of their internal communication. Even though it’s a difficult process in which the company needs to establish certain rules on how will function, it’s an important step to an open and freely communication between the co-workers and the company.

Many studies demonstrated that the proper use of social media in the workplace may increase productivity on the workers, so taking this into account the company should research all the possible social networks existent and decide which of those are important and necessary for internal purposes. Once this decision is made, the company should proceed on installation and then continuously analyze through feedback on its effectiveness.


If the company doesn’t have an internal communication through the social media, it probably isn’t making presence in anyone, and this is a big alert. Nowadays many companies are using the social media as their first channel to communicate with clients, because it allows, instead of the traditional media, feedback from the audience. And in many cases companies use their Facebook fan page, or Twitter accounts like focus groups so they can know and obtain a lot of information regarding their products through the fans opinions. So, if your company isn’t taking on account Social Media like a powerful tool for internal and external communication, it’s time to.

Going social is not easy for a company and even more when the use of Internet has a very restrictive policy in the office, but it is the opportunity to let customers know about your services or products. If a company wants to participate in the social networks it can do it, but first needs to establish rules. The most important is that only a determined department or employees can access to social networks. The second one is that the use of social networks in the office would be only to make publicity of new products or services. Every company can go social and participate in the social networks, but it has to be smart; start with some publications about who you are, then promotion your products, the key is not to exceed with publicity and post only the most important things.

In this world so globalized, and with the technology moving so fast, there are 2 possible options: to join or to stay in the sideboard. Nowadays, when people are used to have fast and efficient communication with almost everyone –and are allowed to do so-, it is difficult for a company not to be into the 2.0 world and succeed.

In the other hand, as Ms. Geraldine have said, it is important to verify what kind of social media combines with the company’s profile, taking into account the target of people that would use this window of direct communication with the company.

To implement the use of social media it is needed to create a department where all that is related with this kind of communication and marketing would be executed without compromising the internet policies and restrictions  of the other employees of the company.

It is also important to understand that the compensation may not be immediate, but, in the time, the social media communication will increase the profits and help to project the company in other markets.

Since the world was created, and the humans were born, the trendy or popular thing has existed, which is what most of people want to do, create or be. Nowadays that trendy topic is the social media. Therefore, it is important to emphasize what Geraldine, Gregory and Maria Eugenia said before, referring to the social media as one of the most important tools used day on day by companies and that its use could compromise the relationship in between the company and the customer, that for better or for worse could be a defining topic for the future of the enterprise. 

Thus, we as company should take this topic seriously and in a critical way, because our engagement with social media not only could increase the productivity and the popularity of the company but also could take us to the chaos. Certainly, we should consider that even if the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution speaks of freedom of expression, we need to be aware about the political correctness. Indeed, we ought to create a normative about how the articles, post and pictures downloaded should be. Likewise, we as a company has to take into account that not all of the comments or answers of the customers would be positive, reason why we should take the positive and the negative comments as a constructive criticism to improve our behavior. Also, it is important to create a new staff dedicated to this approach and concurring with Maria Eugenia it’s important to “create a toolkit to train our personnel and all the departments involved (…)”. 

On the other hand, despite the fact that using social networks is an important step that involves a lot of responsibilities, it is defining for us taking the plunge, because our customers will feel more identified with the company and our range will grow up. Consequently, we have to be selective on choosing which social media we will use, because, blogs like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc., might be crucial for the definition of the consumer’s target of the company. 

Finally, as Gregory said joining the social media “provides an opportunity to expand business contacts”, reason why we must make the pertinent changes, because this transition is possible, but the company isn’t ready for it yet.

I Agree and disagree with  my peers,  I Agree because in today's Business there is a need to develop a correct Social Network for our company, at the moment we have several restrictions   regarding the use of social networks in a personal matter.  It 's important to take  advantage of this technology,  as our competitors already have implemented them obtaining great results. 

We need to look at our competitors and first analyze the Pros and Cons that they have encountered. By doing this we can correct many obstacles that can come up in our own process. I believe that not all the Social Networks are good for the company but not all of them, some  are not designed to meet the company's profile. In order to select which network is appropriated for us,  we need to create our own criteria on how to apply it in our behalf. I believe that some of them might work against our goals.

We can't never say that we are not ready,  Is better to say that we are working on a well structure Social Media networking procedure that will meet our company's demands and objectives.  In order to accomplish this we should look at some of the following steps prior of entering Social Media:

  • Create a toolkit to train our personnel and all the departments involve of  this new approach ( Sales, Customer Service, Marketing)
  • Our company's policy should meet and comply  with  of Social Networks and the law
  • Need to make sure that we have the necessary policies in place to protect the business and employees
  • Need to focus on the potentials and positive aspects, rather than the negative
  • Continuous training of new techniques and approaches to success in social networks.

In a world where people are increasingly engaged online, it is critical for our company to embrace the use of social media to generate leads for the business and to innovate and streamline the process of employee alignment and engagement regarding the vision and mission of the company. Social networking platforms will allow our company to improve communication and productivity by announcing information through different groups of employees and customers in a more efficient manner, resulting in increased productivity. Also, the use of social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram will engage the target audience of the company using images, video, advertisments and contests by connecting with the influential people who are using these social networks. Even though the most concerning aspect is that social networks platforms encourage people to share personal information, the company will educate employees about how their actions online could compromise company security. In addition, the list below outlines the benefits of social media in the workplace:

Nowadays, it is known that social media is one of the best tools for communication. It’s confirmed that using this type of interaction in the current business world, enhances core competencies amongst employees, and shows that the corporation is taking an upright advantage of current modernity.

However, our company is not ready for taking that big step. First, we need to consider that the use of social media has some conditions, and before implementing it, it is needed to analyze those settings in order to avoid future problems that may happen if we take a hasty decision.
Nonetheless, integrating the company in the social media world, in networks like Facebook or Twitter, may be a huge decision to take and could stand for the improving of the company’s image. I think we need to take into account the consequences of using this sort of communication, by making a pilot social network to study these magnitudes. Therefore, we could observe the reaction of the employees to it, in order to finally decide if we are going to implement a social network or not.

It is important for all of us the good results that the pilot social network could provide, because if we base our verdict on those scores, we could make the decision of implementing social media in the corporation, in order to modernize the company in today's business world.
